Insulate
logs, yarn, dimensions variable
Logs don’t need sweaters. They don’t get cold. Mother Nature taught them to take care of themselves. A child’s Mother makes the same effort, to teach the child to take care of himself. However, the biological drive to provide safety is not easily halted. ‘Insulate’ is a family portrait illustrating the evolution of the family dynamics as the children become adults and the Mother learns to let them. The act of insulating something or someone is a type of protection. Layer upon layer of sweaters keeps the nucleus intact and safe.
